The Animas River offers white water excitement for the entire family. The nearby Dolores and Piedra Rivers will challenge experienced boaters.

Alpine meadows, tumbling rivers, red rock cliffs, 14,000-foot peaks – they are all part of the Durango experience. Many miles of trails can be accessed right from town. The nearby Weminuche Wilderness, three quarters of the size of Rhode Island, is Colorado’s largest wilderness area.
